Galahad is a non profit organization with the mission to promote good welfare practices in the equine industry and provide a home to animals that would otherwise face a more tragic fate. We strive to educate the public about welfare issues within the industry and protect farm animals as well as their rights.

Galahad is a non-profit organization with the mission to promote good welfare practices in the equine industry and provide a home to animals that would otherwise face a more tragic fate. We strive to educate the public about welfare issues within the industry and protect farm animals as well as their rights.
Owners that can no longer provide adequate care for their horses sometimes have very limited options. Too often horses end up at the auction and/or at the slaughterhouse. With our vast network of foster families and sanctuaries, we are able to rehome displaced animals so they can live a long and happy life.
Galahad’s Mission
-Promote the welfare and ensure the defense of the rights of horses;
-Provide front-line services; support for donors, treatment of negligence complaints, listening, help and referral for horse owners;
-Educate and support horse owners;
-Develop an extensive network of permanent and temporary horse shelters;
-Help owners relocate horses to which they are no longer able to provide adequate care in order to avoid having to resort to drastic solutions such as slaughter;
-Accreditation of stables, pensions and shelters for horses aimed at the well-being of the horse
